Mission

The World Fireground Survival Association (WFSA) is an international group of firefighting experts, training programs and companies with one shared mission: to make operational work on the fireground safer for every firefighter. Our motto is simple: Always Go Home.

Vision

Every firefighter, wherever they serve, deserves realistic, high-quality fireground survival training, and deserves to go home safely after every call.

To get there, our members organize events, competitions, seminars and courses, often in combination. They give firefighters the chance to learn and practice the skills that make them safer and more efficient on the fireground.

We value inclusivity. Every firefighter is welcome, whatever their level of experience. Firefighters are the most valuable asset of every fire service and the cornerstone of everything we do. That is why we want learning opportunities to be easy to access for every firefighter. Only when all of us move forward, in small steps or big ones, can we truly get better together.

What we do

Together, our experts and the WFSA network create experiences and learning opportunities: events and competitions that lead to follow-up training and instruction. We aim for lasting change, step by step, towards more safety on the fireground without losing efficiency. We partner with fire services and help them put well-developed fireground safety procedures into practice.

What we bring to the table is operational experience from the fireground, backed by scientific research.

When participants go home, we want them to have had a positive learning experience that motivates them to keep learning. That is when our second motto really sticks: Never Stop Learning.
